Who We Are
The Winnipeg Classical Guitar Society (WCGS) is a registered non-profit, volunteer based organization dedicated to the advancement of classical guitar in the province of Manitoba. The WCGS was established in 1975 and aims to build community among classical guitar enthusiasts, as well as increase the public’s understanding and appreciation of classical guitar music.
The art and practice of classical guitar is promoted through concerts and masterclasses delivered by both local and internationally renowned artists. In addition the organization provides workshops designed to encourage the study of the classical guitar, and coffee house performances organized to provide opportunities for guitarists of all levels to meet and play together.
The organization remains committed to encourage study of the classical guitar, and to enrich the culture of classical guitar music in the city of Winnipeg.
