Ryszard Tyborowski Ryszard Tyborowski received his Master of Music Performance Degree from the Faculty of Music in Wroclaw, Poland and his education certificate from the Technical Institute of the Pedagogical School in Zielona Gora, Poland. Following his formal education, Richard studied with highly recognized guitarists in Europe including Costas Cotsiolis, Vangelis Budunis, and Jerry Koenig. Ryszard was awarded with grants and scholarships in recognition of his musicianship. Ryszard is well known across Canada for his classical guitar video Hora recorded for Bravo TV in 1996, as an award, designed to support leading Canadian artists. His first solo CD Romantico was praised by critics in Canada and overseas. It was singled out for its excellence on the CBC program Sound Advice, and chosen by the Manitoba Arts Council to represent the provinces outstanding musical achievement during a Manitoba trade-and cultural exhibition in Scotland. Fabio Zanon (one of the most prestigious guitarists in the world) called Ryszard's second CD Homage a Chopin a "magnificent recording". The title track is a world premier recording of a suite by the contemporary Polish composer Stanislaw Mronski. Ryszard's third CD is titled "Pearls and Yarn" and features chamber music as was released by the American record label Summit Records. Ryszard recently finished his fourth CD which will be released by Marquis Records in 2008 and which features Ryszard in various chamber performances performing works by Winnipeg Composer Sid Robinovitch. Ryszard is currently in the process of recording his fifth CD which is set to be released in 2009 which features his Synergy Duo. Richard has performed numerous recitals in Canada and Europe. Recent highlights include performances with the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra, the Belgrade Symphony Orchestra, the U of W's Virtuosi Concert Series, the Winnipeg Classical Guitar Society, as well as a concert tour of Northern Canada. Richard is frequently heard on CBC Radio, and on various classical music stations in the United States. Richard teaches classical guitar at both the University of Manitoba Faculty of Music and the Manitoba Conservatory of Music and Arts and is the President of the Winnipeg Classical Guitar Society. |
